Formed in 1999 HAGO is one of only a few Niibori Guitar Orchestras in the UK: as well as classical guitars, they play 3 other sizes of guitars, from the small and high-pitched alto guitar to the huge contrabass guitar creating a beautiful, unique sound. Under the direction of founder Derek Hasted, the Orchestra has earned a reputation for its wide ranging programmes and quality of performances, winning first prize in the sixth Guiar Orchestra Competition of Great Britain. Joined by Cambridge Guitar Orchestra for their concert in the Festivities, the two groups present a programme of immense contrasts, with something for everyone from 8 to 80. www.hago.org.uk
