To mark the opening of the Festivities, the glorious sounds of Renaissance Italy performed by some of the country’s leading early music specialists. Internationally renowned singer Charles Daniels is joined by Ensemble Plus Ultra - ‘a crack squad of the finest British early music singers’ (Early Music Today) – and the highly acclaimed His Majesty’s Sagbutts & Cornetts - 'the pre-eminent group of its kind’ (Classic FM) with pupils from The Portsmouth Grammar School to perform one of the most important works in the choral repertoire. Virtuosic solo movements and magisterial choruses, this promises to be a magnificent evening.
