Cross Channel Musical in a Day

Ian McMillan & Luke Carver Goss

Year 9 pupils from Caen will join forces with pupils from two Portsmouth schools to work with poet Ian McMillan and mulit-instrumentalist Luke Carver Goss and members of his orchestra to put together a unique musical in a day, celebrating the links between the twin cities. GP Taylor

For further details click here. Age 9+.

Michelle Magorian
Portsmouth-born author Michelle Magorian shot to fame 25 years ago with the publication of her first novel Goodnight Mr Tom. Michelle Magorian will visit the Festivities to talk to children about her work and will read from her new book, Just Henry, published in May 2008 and Waterstone’s Book of the Month. An inspiring day for young readers and budding writers. For further details click here. Age 10+.

Tall Stories Children’s Theatre present
How the Giraffe Got its Neck

and other stories inspired by Rudyard Kipling and Charles Darwin

A brand new show from the company that brought you The Gruffalo, The Snow Dragon and Monster Hits. A genius scientist and an eccentric storyteller bring us their fantastic and almost entirely contradictory versions of how certain amazing animals came to be - and how certain others came not to be (like the incredible duck-billed octopus). Stories, silliness and a very confused giraffe combine in this ridiculous new show. For further details click here. Age 4+.
